WSS3 and Access 2007

Came across a really nice combination of this the other day. Access 2007 has an Issues template that integrates really well with Sharepoint 2007/WSS 3 sites. Means you can have a nice rich client to the issues list. Also means better reporting capability and you can also publish the database to a document library on the site from within Access… nice!

Joomla! reaches v1.0.2

It didn’t take them long! The Joomla! developers are racing along releasing updated versions left, right and centre. Joomla! is already up to v1.0.2. I installed the 1.0.1 release the other day. Looking good. Can’t wait to see where they take this.

Mambo renamed to Joomla!

For those who don’t know – Mambo is an awesome open-source PHP CMS. It has a huge following and a large community built around it. A few weeks ago the core development team split from the company that was promoting the product because of differences of opinion in how the project was being controlled. The core development team have formed a new holding company called Open Source Matters and have taken the existing code to continue development with.

Now, as of 1 Sep the project is officially known as Joomla!.
